Jem Smithers - Picnic

On Sunday we decided to go for a picnic at Watson Bay. The walking paths had been upgraded and we were interested to see what they looked like, and it wasn't too hot.

I invited some friends to join us and they caught the ferry from Balmain and met us at the playground, near where the ferry arrives. I think everyone must of had the same plan that day, it was so crowded everywhere we went. It was just as well we took a picnic, because there were huge lines to get into the cafes and restaurants. Although we didn't mind standing in line for ice-cream.

The walk along the cliff-top has a great view of the Tasman ocean and all the big container ships that bring cargo from overseas and the cruise ships with people on holidays. Sometimes, when the season is right, people come to this point to look out for whales. You can see them spurting water up from their blowhole from very far away.

We walked for about 1 hour and then we had a picnic. It was a very nice, relaxing day.
